Three monuments, three tickets

UNESCO lists the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs and the Ben Youssef Medersa as parts of the Medina of Marrakech. Each has its own ticket and its own opening hours. There is no combined ticket, so add the prices up if you plan to see all three.

For a foreign adult in 2026 the three entrances come to MAD 250 in total: MAD 100 for the palace, MAD 100 for the tombs and MAD 50 for the medersa. The Bahia and the tombs are run by the Ministry of Culture. The medersa has its own operator and its own ticket page.

Carved stucco arches in the Bahia Palace

Bahia Palace

The Bahia is known for its painted cedar ceilings, carved stucco arches and quiet courtyards. The ministry's ticket portal offers online sales, but online booking is not required.

Entry is free for people with reduced mobility, and for Moroccan nationals on Fridays and on the first day of national and religious holidays. This does not apply to foreign visitors. The listed hours are 09:00 to 17:00, with no separate last entry published.

The palace is in the southern medina, close to the Mellah. Combine it with a walk through the Mellah using our medina guide.

Saadian Tombs

The tombs lie in the Kasbah area of the medina. The complex includes the Hall of the Twelve Columns, with its marble pillars. Hours are 09:00 to 17:00, and the prices match the Bahia: MAD 100 for a foreign adult, MAD 50 for a foreign child aged 7 to 13.

Moroccan visitors enter free on Fridays and on the first day of national and religious holidays. Go at opening time if you want space to photograph the zellige tilework.

The courtyard and pool of the Ben Youssef Madrasa

Ben Youssef Medersa

The medersa is a historic Islamic school with a central courtyard, a pool and carved wooden galleries. The regular ticket is MAD 50, children under 12 pay MAD 10, and it is open daily from 09:00 to 19:00.

The operator's site shows online ticket sales as suspended for maintenance, with tickets sold at the entrance. This may change, so look at the medersa's own page before you travel. It is run by the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs, not by the Ministry of Culture, so its ticket is separate from the Bahia and tombs.

After the 2023 earthquake

The earthquake of 8 September 2023 had a magnitude of 6.8. A Moroccan report to UNESCO lists damage to city walls, palaces, mosques and houses in the medina. At the Bahia, the curator described cracks and partial collapses in the large riad and the Menzah. The palace reopened about a month after the quake.

Repair work was still going on in the report of November 2025, including at the Saadian Tombs and the Bahia. A planned end date for the tombs of June 2026 does not tell us whether the work is finished, so some rooms or sections may be closed or covered by scaffolding. Visit with an open mind and look at the ministry portal or the ticket office for current information.
