Jardin Majorelle at a glance
The garden sits on Rue Yves Saint Laurent, outside the medina. Its centrepiece is a villa painted in a strong cobalt shade known as Majorelle blue, set among cacti, palms and pools. The former painter's studio in the garden is now a museum of Berber art, and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum stands next door.
The operator says the garden is accessible for wheelchairs. Allow about an hour for the garden alone, and more if you want to see the museums.

Tickets: you must book online
The Jardin Majorelle sells tickets online only. The operator's own website links to one official ticket page, and you choose a time slot there. Book early, especially for mornings and busy months. Do not rely on buying a ticket at the gate, and use only the ticket page linked from the garden's own website, not resellers' pages.
Check the details on the ticket page when you pay, because the final total, any fee and the cancellation rules are shown there at checkout.

Which ticket should you buy?
Decide before you book, because the ticket page asks you to pick a slot and a product. The three options are the garden alone, the garden with the Berber Museum, or all three sites including the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. The Yves Saint Laurent Museum alone was listed at MAD 140 by the same third-party guide.
- Short on time: the garden alone is enough to see the blue villa, the pools and the cactus garden.
- Interested in craft and culture: add the Berber Museum, which is in the former painter's studio inside the garden.
- Interested in fashion: add the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, and check that you are not visiting on a Wednesday.
Opening hours
The garden opens daily. Its own pages show slightly different times, so use the time slot on your ticket as the final word.
- Garden: from 08:00 or 08:30. Closing is listed between 17:30 and 18:30, with last entry between 17:00 and 18:00.
- Berber Museum: opens at 08:30 or 09:00 and closes between 17:00 and 18:00.
- Yves Saint Laurent Museum: 10:00 to 18:00 daily except Wednesday, last entry 17:30.
The safest plan is an early slot in the morning. The light is soft, the paths are quieter and the heat is lower in summer. See our Marrakech weather guide for the months to avoid.

The YSL Museum and the Berber Museum
The Musée Yves Saint Laurent is a separate ticket and closes on Wednesdays. The Pavilion Temporaire in the Villa Oasis garden opened on 31 January 2025 and is part of the garden route. Individual exhibition rooms can close while displays change. That is not the same as the whole museum being shut, but it is worth checking the museum's page before you go if one exhibition matters to you.
The Berber Museum, called the Musée Pierre Bergé, is in the former painter's studio. If your time is short, the garden and one museum make a good visit.
Tips for your visit
Go early
Pick the first slot of the day if you can. Paths are narrow and photos are easier without crowds.
Bring proof
Student, resident and disability tickets need the matching card or document at the entrance.
Plan the medina separately
The garden is outside the medina. Visit the old town in another part of the day, using our medina guide, and take a taxi between the two.
Photos
The blue wall and the pool are the best-known views. Cacti and palms make good frames on the quieter paths.
